Eric Strom, P. Eng.
Eric brings more than 23 years of engineering, operational and project experience, including 12 years in Management and other Executive roles for Newcrest, Newgold, Rio Tinto and China Molybdenum Co. (CMOC). Eric was a Director of Serengeti Resources through the successful merger with Sun Metals and launch of NorthWest Copper in 2021. Eric has spent ten years building, operating and overseeing block cave mines including New Afton in Kamloops BC, and Northparkes Mines in Australia. Eric graduated from Queen’s University in 1995 with a degree in Mining Mechanical Engineering and started with Placer Dome in Timmins, Ontario. Over his career Eric has worked across Canada, Australia and the United States. He is currently working for Newcrest as the Head of Projects in Canada, focused on their newest project, the Red Chris Mine. Previous roles included Vice-President Projects and Innovation for Titan Mining, Director Underground Mining for Newgold, Mining Manager for Rio Tinto at Northparkes Mines, and superintendent of the Projects and Technical Teams building the New Afton Mine in Kamloops BC. Eric is a strategic thinker and champion of practical innovation and brings a deep understanding of the business of mining in Canada and abroad.
Chris Haubrich, P.Eng., M.Sc., CFA
Chris Haubrich is a mining finance professional and registered Professional Mining Engineer with over a decade of experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate strategy, capital markets, operations, and engineering consulting in the mining industry. Mr. Haubrich is Vice President, Business Development with PureGold. Prior to joining PureGold, he served as Vice President, Investment Banking with National Bank Financial where he covered the mining industry and advised clients on a wide range of M&A and financing transactions. Mr. Haubrich started his career as an underground mining engineer with Cameco Corporation and has since evaluated numerous mining projects all over the world from both financial and technical perspectives. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the University of Alberta, a Master of Science degree in Mineral and Energy Economics from Colorado School of Mines and is a CFA Charterholder.
Christopher Lee, MSc, PGeo
Mr. Lee is a registered professional geologist with over 25 years of experience in mineral exploration and resource evaluation. Mr. Lee is Chief Geoscientist with PureGold. He specializes in structural analysis of ore deposits for application to grade control, resource estimation and generation of predictive exploration models. Mr. Lee spent seven years with SRK providing specialist structural geology guidance for projects located globally, across a variety of commodities and at all stages from exploration through to development and production. He has significant experience in the Red Lake district, including the Goldcorp Challenge where he placed as a semi-finalist. Most recently, Mr. Lee was Chief Geoscientist at True Gold Mining and Fronteer Gold where he was the Qualified Person responsible for resource modeling, estimation and growth of over 14 million ounces of gold in mining assets located in Burkina Faso, Turkey and Nevada.
Phil Smerchanski, M.Econ.Geol., P.Geo.
Mr. Smerchanski is a registered professional geologist and has more than 15 years of exploration experience with Falconbridge, Inco, and Anglo American, and as a senior consultant to mid-tier and major mining companies. Mr. Smerchanski is Vice President, Exploration for PureGold. Mr. Smerchanski has developed base and precious metals expertise through field experience on ore systems across North America, and the southern hemisphere. In Red Lake, he has recently consulted to Goldcorp as a technical advisor on their high-grade generative exploration team, including targeting at the new HG Young discovery. He is committed to resource discovery and evaluation through the integration of multidisciplinary geoscience datasets and experts.
Glen Garratt P.Geo.
Mr. Garratt completed a B.Sc. in Geology from the University of British Columbia in 1972 and has pursued a career in mineral exploration since that time. After working for a number of major and junior mining companies he founded a consulting/contracting company in 1979 and continues to service the mineral exploration community as President of Mincord Exploration Consultants Ltd. In 1986 Mr. Garratt co-founded Eastfield Resources Ltd., a TSX-Venture Exchange listed company, which focused on mineral exploration in western North America. Subsequently Mr. Garratt has been active in developing several other junior exploration companies and is currently an officer and director of Eastfield as well as Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. Woodjam Copper Corp., and past director of Lorraine Copper Corp.
Bill Morton M.Sc., P.Geo.
Mr. Morton, serves as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Lorraine Copper Corp., Consolidated Woodjam Copper Corp., Eastfield Resources Ltd., and Cariboo Rose Resources Ltd. He has been Vice President and Partner of the Mincord Exploration Consultants Ltd. since 1987. He has been Technical Advisor of Fort St. James Nickel Corp. since February 2015. He has been involved in the senior management of public resource companies for almost 20 years and is or has been a Director or Technical Advisor to more than a dozen public resource companies in that time. He has been a Professional Geologist since 1972 and is a Member of the BC Association of Professional Engineers and is a Member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. Mr. Morton holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology from Carleton University and a Masters of Science Degree from the University of British Columbia.
